Honouring the Past, Shaping the Future: The 2023 Foundation at Remembrance Day Service
On Sunday, November 10, 2024, The 2023 Foundation's CEO and Founder, Michael Scott, along with Director Elad Gur, attended the Communal Wreath Laying and Remembrance Day Service at the Sydney Jewish Museum. As we honoured those who served, we were reminded of the immense loyalty Jewish Australians have shown to this country, with over 9,000 Jewish men and women having served in Australia’s armed forces. However, this reflection also raises an important question: how much worse must things get before we say "enough"?
At The 2023 Foundation, our mission is to combat antisemitism and foster peaceful coexistence. As we witness the rising tide of antisemitism globally, we are reminded of the lessons of history, particularly the dark days of 1930s Europe. Jewish Australians have long demonstrated their commitment to Australia, with 341 giving their lives in service. In light of recent events, it is crucial for all people of goodwill to stand up and say, “Never again.”
Our commitment to fighting antisemitism and building understanding has never been more urgent. To help us in this mission, please consider making a donation to The 2023 Foundation. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and build a safer, more tolerant future for all.
