Scholarships and Placements
At The 2023 Foundation, we are committed to fostering meaningful connections between Australians and Israel through firsthand experiences. Our Scholarships & Placements are designed to provide opportunities that align with our mission to introduce Australians—who may have little or no prior knowledge or experience with Israel—to its rich culture, history, innovation, and people.
Through industry placements in Israel’s thriving Start-Up Nation, kibbutz living experiences, and academic scholarships at some of Israel’s most prestigious institutions, these opportunities are more than just programs—they are journeys of discovery and understanding. These initiatives allow participants to immerse themselves in Israel's dynamic social, professional, and cultural landscapes while building relationships and gaining invaluable personal and professional insights.
These scholarships and placements are a gateway to a deeper connection with Israel and its people, offering both professional and personal growth while contributing to a shared vision of connection and collaboration.
Industry Placements
Israel is famously known as the "Start-Up Nation"—a hub of technological innovation, entrepreneurship, and cutting-edge industries. With a thriving ecosystem of start-ups and global companies that have established a presence in Israel, the employment opportunities are both diverse and dynamic. The 2023 Foundation will facilitate industry placements that allow participants to gain valuable professional experience while immersing themselves in Israel’s innovation-driven culture.
These placements will connect participants with some of the world's leading companies and provide an opportunity to work across industries ranging from technology and engineering to business, design, and research. Participants will not only learn and earn but will also experience daily life in Israel, expanding their professional networks and deepening their understanding of the region’s entrepreneurial spirit, values, and culture.
Kibbutz Placements
Kibbutz life has long been a meaningful and enriching experience for people from all over the world. For Australians seeking a cultural journey that combines community living, exploration, and connection, our kibbutz placements offer the perfect opportunity. These placements—ranging from 2 to 12 months—immerse participants in the unique communal lifestyle of Israel’s historic kibbutzim, offering a rare and authentic way to engage with local culture.
Kibbutz placements are not just about work. Participants will live alongside peers from across the globe, building cross-cultural friendships while contributing to daily communal life. The roles participants take on—such as agricultural work, assisting in elderly care, or other meaningful tasks—provide insight into Israel’s shared traditions, values, and everyday life. Accommodation is fully covered, and participants will also have ample free time to explore the surrounding region, including Egypt, Jordan, Cyprus, or other nearby destinations.
